Course Materials
Every course has required or recommended course materials. Knowing the cost of your course materials before registration can help you plan and budget for the semester.
What are Course Materials?
Course materials include textbooks, e-books, course packets, software, online learning platforms and other resources required or recommended for a class. Faculty are expected to provide information about required course materials before registration so you can make informed decisions about course costs.
UT San Antonio is also committed to offering open educational resources (OER) where possible, providing financial relief to students by replacing traditional textbooks with free or low-cost educational materials that support their academic success. Students can easily see if a course offers an open educational resource by looking at the class attribute.

You can find required course materials in several places:
- Simple Syllabus: Search by course, instructor or department to view course syllabi and required materials.
