Emergency Aid Application
Instructions: Emergency grants are available to both degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students and will be given out as long as funds are available. These are one-time funds that are administered as long as a financial aid application is on file and if all financial aid, such as grants and student loans, are exhausted. Those without a FAFSA or TASFA on file or whose aid is not exhausted may be offered an emergency loan. This emergency loan will need to be repaid within the semester. Please fill out the Emergency Aid Application below and attach supporting documentation in order to be considered for emergency aid.
Is your request related to COVID-19? Requests related to COVID-19 will first be reviewed for Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) funding which has specific eligibility requirements. HEERF funding is limited and evaluated in the order applications are received. Once HEERF funding has been exhausted, institutional funding could be used. Note: HEERF funds can be used to apply towards institutional balances with student consent. If institutional funding is used to cover the request, funds MUST be applied to any balance owed before a refund can be received.
Note on Timing: Please allow 3-4 weeks for a response to your Emergency Aid application. You will be notified through your preferred email account as indicated in ASAP. Due to funding limitations, multiple applications and second requests will not be processed or approved. If additional funding assistance is needed, students may apply for the UTSA Educational Expense Loan.
