Accepting Your Aid

Once you have been offered financial aid or scholarships, you may go and review your aid on your myUTSA Account.

Everything related to your financial aid at UTSA can be viewed through our Financial Aid portal, accessed through your myUTSA Account. Please note that you will be prompted to authenticate yourself through your DUO account when trying to access financial aid information on your myUTSA Account. New to our portal? • Some aid may have state “eligibility” requirements and will not disburse until you have completed the requirements to receive this fund.
    • Additional information and requirements for specific financial aid offers can be found under the Understanding Aid section on the website.

If the housing arrangement on your financial aid offer differs from where you will actually be living (on campus, off campus, or at home), you must notify us by completing an online Housing Arrangement Confirmation form. Please note a change in housing arrangements will change your cost of attendance, and your financial aid offer may be changed or adjusted if necessary. Please allow 7-10 business days for the housing change to be processed.

  4. Notify us of External Resources or Outside Scholarship

If you expect an outside scholarship, military benefits, a tuition exemption (e.g., Hazlewood, Foster Care, Valedictorian, Civil Service), or third-party payments (e.g., 529 education plan) to cover your tuition and fees, you must notify our office as soon as possible. These external resources can impact your gift aid.

How to Submit an External Resource or Outside Scholarship

If you are receiving an outside scholarship, download and complete the Outside Scholarship Form for the appropriate aid year. Once the forms are complete, login to our Document Uploader and upload the files. The fields to select in Document Uploader will be notated on the PDF form itself.

For all other external resources, download and complete the External Resource form for the appropriate aid year. Once the forms are complete, login to our Document Uploader and upload the files. The fields to select in Document Uploader will be notated on the PDF form itself.

  5. Check Your UTSA Email

If you have outstanding requirements, we will email your UTSA email address or for new students, emails will be sent to the email address used on your Admissions application.

  6. Need Forms?

If a form is required, download it from the Financial Aid Forms website. Most of our forms can be completed and submitted online through the Document Uploader.

  7. Submitting Documents & Paperwork

Outstanding documents must be processed by our office in order for aid to disburse. We encourage you to submit your financial aid paperwork by priority deadlines to ensure your aid pays before the term’s payment deadline. Documents submitted after the deadline will still be processed, but students should make other payment arrangements to avoid a late payment fee or being dropped for non-payment after census.
