Verification
The University of Texas at San Antonio is federally obligated to verify all financial aid applicants that have been selected by the U.S. Department of Education for a process called verification.
If your application is selected for verification it will be indicated on your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) when you submit your FAFSA. Students will check their ProVerifier+ Student Dashboard to view a list of the required documents necessary to complete the process.
UT San Antonio is required to complete this process prior to certifying student loans or disbursing financial aid funds to a student’s account. Failure to complete the verification process may result in the cancellation of student financial aid.

Important Information about Verification
Review your Proverifer+ Student Dashboard to make sure all your documents are turned in by your priority deadline.
Verification paperwork submitted after the deadline is not guaranteed to be completed by the Fall payment deadline or Spring payment deadline.
Failure to submit all documents together may result in a processing delay. Financial Aid will not disburse until the verification process is complete. It is recommended to have payment arrangements (e.g. Tuition and Fee Loan, Installment Plan, etc.) in place if paperwork is submitted after the priority submission deadline to avoid late fees or a change in enrollment.
Please log on to your myUTSA Account to view any outstanding requirements you must submit to the One Stop Enrollment Center.

Identity and Statement of Education Purpose (IDSOEP)
The U.S. Department of Education may ask some FAFSA applicants to complete a Statement of Educational Purpose. This form confirms your identity and agrees to use federal student aid only for education costs. If you are selected, you must complete the steps below before we can review your financial aid eligibility and release aid to your student account.
How to Complete the IDSOEP Requirement:
Access and Complete the IDSOEP form. You can find the form on your ProVerifier+ Dashboard. To get to the Dashboard, log in to your myUTSA account and open your Financial Aid Portal.
Note: the IDSOEP form is not the same as the verification worksheet. You must submit the IDSOEP form directly to UT San Antonio, not to ProVerifier+.
How to Submit the Form:
Option 1: In Person (Recommended)
- Bring your completed IDSOEP form to the One-Stop Enrollment Center.
- Bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Examples include an unexpired driver’s license, state-issued ID, or passport.
- A copy of your ID will be made for our records.
- Turn in all documents at the same time. Write your name and Student ID at the top of each document.
Option 2: Complete the Form with a U.S. Notary and Mail It
If you cannot come to the One Stop Enrollment Center in person, you may mail the IDSOEP form that has been certified by a Notary.
- Complete the IDSOEP form in the presence of a U.S. notary.
- Provide the notary with a government-issued photo ID so they can confirm your identity. Examples include an unexpired driver’s license, state-issued ID or passport.
- Make a copy of the valid government-issued photo ID you used with the notary.
- Include a statement that says the ID and form have not been changed or tampered with.
- Include your name and Student ID at the top of every document.
- Mail the notarized IDSOEP form, statement, and the copy of your photo ID you used with the notary to the One-Stop Enrollment Center.
- One Stop Enrollment Center, One UTSA Circle, San Antonio, TX 78249
Please note: You must submit all required documents before we can review your verification. Processing may take up to 10 business days after we receive all documents. It may take longer during busy times. The “mail” option should only be used if you are out of state or cannot come in person. Mail your documents to the address listed above. Missing copies or mistakes on the form will delay processing.
If you have questions, contact the One Stop Enrollment Center at (210) 458-8000, toll-free at (800) 669-0919 or by email at [email protected].
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Verification is a process used to check the information reported on your FAFSA. This is done by reviewing documents that support the information you gave. The U.S. Department of Education may select some FAFSAs for verification. UT San Antonio may also select a FAFSA for verification. Students may be selected at random or because some FAFSA information was missing or did not match.
If your FAFSA is selected for verification, you will see a notice on your FAFSA Submission Summary. Our verification partner, ProEd, will email your myUTSA email account. ProEd will give you access to your ProVerifier+ Dashboard. You can find the Dashboard in your Financial Aid Portal through your myUTSA account. Please review your Dashboard and submit the requested documents as soon as possible. This can help prevent delays with your financial aid disbursement.
Verification usually takes two to three weeks after you submit your documents. It may take longer during busy times, such as August or January.
The documents needed are different for each student. Log in to your ProVerifier+ Dashboard to see what documents you need to submit. You can find the Dashboard in your Financial Aid Portal through your myUTSA account.
If you do not complete verification, your federal and institutional aid cannot be paid to your account, and you must seek out alternative Payment Options.
If your aid has already paid and you are later selected for verification, your aid may be pulled back from your account, which may result in an outstanding balance being created. If this happens, submit your verification documents as soon as possible. After verification is completed, your eligible financial aid will be added back to your account.
