Stipends and Fellowships
Financial Aid and Scholarships adhere to a policy that ensures students receiving stipends and fellowships receive the maximum allowable aid within federal regulations.
Undergraduate students receiving stipend amounts and scholarships that are eligible for Pell will be offered the maximum. The federal Pell grant plus scholarship/stipend funds are not to exceed the normal cost of attendance specified by Financial Aid and Scholarships (Pell grant will be stacked on top of stipend/scholarship amount). Additionally, the total combination of other federal and state aid along with stipends or scholarships cannot surpass the overall cost of attendance.
Graduate students who receive stipends/fellowships/scholarships may also be eligible for additional federal and state aid. However, the total sum of all federal and state aid, when combined with stipends/fellowships/scholarships must not exceed the established cost of attendance.
The sole source of funding permitted to surpass the cost of attendance when combined with a stipend, fellowship, or scholarship is the Pell grant. All other federal and state aid in combination with a stipend, fellowship and scholarship may not exceed the normal cost of attendance as specified by Financial Aid and Scholarships.
