Parent PLUS Request

The Parent PLUS Loan is a credit based federal loan that parents to dependent undergraduate students can borrow to help pay for their student’s educational expenses. Your parent is not required to apply for the Parent PLUS loan or submit the Parent PLUS Loan Request Form if he or she does not wish to pursue this loan.

If your parent would like to apply for the Parent PLUS Loan, he or she must log onto studentloans.gov using the parent’s Department of Education issued FSA ID and click on “Apply for a PLUS Loan” to begin the application process. For detailed application instructions, click here.

After your parent applies for the Parent PLUS Loan at studentloans.gov, your parent must submit the Parent Plus Request Form for the applicable aid year in order for the school to process the loan request.

Your parent can submit the form in one of the following ways:

• In person at either of the One Stop Enrollment Center counters
• Via mail at:
  The University of Texas at San Antonio
  Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
  One UTSA Circle
  San Antonio, TX 78249
• Via fax at (210) 458-4638 (Please provide a contact number in the event your fax is unreadable)
• Via drop box locations in the John Peace Library(1604) or Frio Street Building(Downtown)
